Niklos Damaris is the elder of the two brothers who chose to follow Vane. A swindler by nature, Niklos is always on the lookout for an easy way to turn a profit. His sharp wit and cunning have gotten him out of many tight spots, but his greatest obsession lies with the strange rune Vane carries—a rune Niklos believes will lead them to unimaginable fortune and glory.
While his younger brother follows out of loyalty, Niklos’ reasons are far more self-serving. Yet, beneath his opportunistic demeanor, there’s a sense of camaraderie growing between him, his brother, and Vane. Still, Niklos keeps his eye on the prize, knowing that Vane’s rune could be their ticket to wealth beyond measure—or their undoing.
